![]() ![]() Say that you want to make your creatures with 5 eyes and 6 ears and a flower in the head. There’s also a minor inconvenience because of cosmetic changes. (edit: I was going toelaborate this better, but I'll see how it goes first) ![]() It’s much worse than that, because instead they made it EASIER to make "perfect" creatures: just make it with nothing but level 5 ablities. One of their reasons for going that way is that they feared players would find the “perfect creature” and the servers would be filled with nothing but things shaped like it. One of the biggest problems with Spore is something that the developers thought was a solution: any design goes. My suggestion is balancing things out by making some of the omnivores mouth count as herbivores: amphibians & either primates or insectoid mouths.īack in Spore’s earlier days, the insectoid mouths where omnivores, while the birds were carnivores. So here’s the problem: because omnivore mouths count as predators, that means your options for creating herbivores are MASSIVELY reduced: with the core game and CC combined, there are 28 carnivore/omnivore mouths against only 16 herbivore mouths. The second modification regarding mouths is because of the Space Stage: In order to colonize planets, you need to make it habitable, by filling the ecological niches with carnivores and herbivores. The higher the rating, the more DNA you obtain, as in, the earlier mouths give 1 DNA,while later ones give 10 (just some random values). like wings grant the jump and glide) of granting DNA points by eating. The way this is done is by making the mouths have an ability (i.e. So one of these modifications is simply that: bringing back the carnivore/herbivore rating. You can’t socialize with it, all you can do is run away and hope it loses you or catch another poor creature. I know their reasons for trying and making a game more family friendly by allowing to socialize with creatures, but admit it, the best moment you had when playing Creature Stage was encountering an Epic. Spore is already criticized forthe lack of gameplay. And that’s a good thing, because even if the googly eyes make it look unrealistic, the dynamics are much superior to Creature Stage, where the survival aspect is nigh absent. Just look at the Cell Stage, which is in fact a a tutorial for Creature Stage: there’s no socialization, you just eat and survive by being either the strongest, faster or trickier cell. At the time this was probably importat since the survival game was more important than socialize/extinct other creatures in the final game, so this was removed Way back when Spore was still in production, mouths had an additional stat: Carnivore & Herbivore rating, and we were always told how omnivores, while could eat both sources of food, would do it less efficiently. Mouths, Creature Stage survival gameplay and Ecological Niches Try bearing with me on this.Īlso all pictures will be under Spoiler because I know some people might not like having so many pictures loading. ![]() I know this is a lot of suggestions and that asking so many things at once is bad, but. This is a list of small modifications that try to make Spore a little more faithful for what it originally was. Also, it’s more like an exploration of possibilities than anything, and I'll give some decent explaination of each point rather than "can u make this ultra cool mod pls?1". I don’t usually make requests like these, lest I’m told to make them myself, but I would like to ask it anyways since, it's better than not. ![]()
